Trailer insurance is fairly basic when you compare it against other insurance types, such as life or health insurance policies. Trailer insurance generally covers the following:

- Normal trailer insurance – this is any normal trailer that is used for garden work, or landscaping, etc;
- Caravans – insurance providers will generally cover caravans under the same policy. A motor home or campervan would likely be insured under a car insurance policy;

- Pop up trailers;
- Farm trailers.
